Mission
Build a durable public record
We track the development of emergency shutdown mechanisms for advanced AI systems across research, industry, law, public debate, and social and broadcast media.
Methodology
Every profile, news entry, and media item links to a public source. We distinguish factual reporting from analysis, preserve competing viewpoints, and update status labels as policy changes.
Media engagement is shown only with its evidence label. Publicly readable figures are identified as verified; login-walled figures compiled by third parties remain explicitly marked as reported and not independently verified.
Editorial standards
Coverage is evidence-led and non-partisan. Inclusion in the directory does not imply endorsement. Summaries aim to represent the source’s claim faithfully and provide a direct link for verification.
Editorial
Juan L Aguirre edits AIKillSwitch.org and is responsible for its sourcing standards, summaries, and status labels. He reviews every entry against a public primary source before publication and issues corrections on the record.
Corrections and source suggestions are welcomed at editor@AIKillSwitch.org.
